(Except one desktop unit that I don't count as it is not in their business line.) Nothing has been added or updated (except for firmware updates) since I first got to know Drobo many years ago. Their SAN and NAS lines are just stagnating. Mine was from many years ago and was already a very old product then. Just upgrading to the B800i is a bit of an upgrade although the B800i is very long in the tooth by now. I need a replacement solution to use with Appassure - suggestions on NAS boxes?ĭepends on your needs. I needed the throughput of Gb LAN instead of USB 2, so I was kinda forced to using it this way. ![]() Yep, it's their original SAN (or what they like to call DAS).įound this out the hard way when I got it. This is the third time in 3 months I've had to do said: I unplugged the USB cable from the laptop, plugged the ethernet cable back in, and then after restarting the Drobo Dashboard software, it found the DroboPro. ![]() Made sure the dashboard software could see the DroboPro, everything seemed OK now. I grabbed a laptop, installed Drobo Dashboard on it, plugged the USB from the DroboPro into the laptop, and after a while it finally found it. I tried connecting the USB cable from the DroboPro to the VM, but USB passthrough didn't seem to work. I rebooted the DroboPro, but it would not reconnect to the 2008R2 VM. I came into the office this morning to update my VM hosts, started checking out my backups first, and found that my DroboPro only had the power light lit with a yellow light. Recently when I reboot the 2008 R2 VM, the DroboPro won't reconnect to the Drobo Dashboard (the dashboard says there are no Drobos attached). Network using MS auto assigned IPs (been working for 4+ years). Dedicated NIC port to this VM for ISCSI traffic to the DroboPro.
